Below is the President’s message on his farewell address.

To all the JAVS members, veterinary students, and related people

I am Shinji Kawate, who served as IVSA-J President for the 17th IVSA-J.

This term, in addition to the online events that continued from the previous term, I worked vigorously to hear and document how to hold face-to-face events as an exit strategy for the COVID-19 disaster. We hope that this will be of help to the Group Exchange, which is scheduled to be held in two years’ time. I am proud to say that we have laid the foundations for the independence and sustainable development that we set as our goal at the 16th General Meeting. Although there was pressure from JAVS, I was also able to prepare for the possibility of independence.

I have not been able to do everything I wanted to do, but with the help of my excellent staff members, I was able to successfully complete this term. I will continue my activities in IVSA to help my juniors in the next term and beyond.

Finally, I would like to thank all the JAVS members for your participation and cooperation in this term’s IVSA JAPAN activities. I look forward to working with you in the next term and beyond.

Shinji Kawate, Director General of IVSA-J Bureau and President of IVSA JAPAN for the 17th term
